About NGO
About NGO
BITAN is a state-level non-governmental organization (NGO) with 19 years of continuous learning and accomplishments. With this learning journey, it is now more mature, prosperous, and ready to pursue the ideal it has envisioned. Through its operations, BITAN has endeavored to address the goals established by the Governing Body and its consultants.
During these epochs, it became apparent that the expansion of target groups and concerns was important for the organization to accomplish its mission. BITAN is active in 18 West Bengal districts and 8 Tripura districts. For more than a decade, BITAN has collaborated with numerous state and central government departments and corporate partners (including CSR and foreign-funded projects). It also keeps close ties with District and Block Authorities and Local Governance to work together on a large scale to ensure that the programme is carried out well.
BITAN is well-known for its expertise in Young People's Reproductive & Sexual Health (YPRSH), Mother & Child Health, education, unemployment, and the environment, all of which contribute to the holistic development of the community. The organization facilitates the filling of critical gaps in the existing government service delivery system for mothers, children, and adolescents; the development of better/alternative livelihood options for unemployed youth and women; and the reduction of environmental degradation through solid waste management. As a result, BITAN has amassed a wealth of knowledge and now aims to address the challenges of environmental and waste management.
Moreover, BITAN has conducted the employability skill development training of un-employed youths in partnership with Smile Foundation and more than 590 trained youths had been placed in different job markets. BITAN has organized RPL training of more than 3000 safai karmacharies under the Green Jobs Council, New Delhi and also conducted skill development training program under PBSSD, Govt. of WB.
BITAN has a strong linkage and foothold in three states of Tripura, Assam and West Bengal with the requisite capacity to conduct the proposed training program for women & youths from marginalized community.
