Tollygunge Women In Need (TWIN) was founded in 1995 by a Belgian couple, Dr.(Mrs.) Marie Paule Baudot, formerly professor of Leuven University and Late Josef (Tor) Mutton, formerly a reputed IT Professional. The NGO is engaged in rendering benevolent services amongst others, on education that includes alphabetical, vocational and healthcare, to its targeted underprivileged communities in and around Kolkata. The objectives of TWIN are:

To empower deprived women through social and economic development
To mainstream underprivileged children into formal education
To protect children from child labour and trafficking

Over the last 27 years, the NGO has been continuing its charitable services under the able leadership of a duly constituted Governing Body and financial support from Belgium.
