IMAGIN is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering an informed, empowered, and poverty-free India where communities thrive sustainably. Since its inception in 2013, IMAGIN has been working to ensure equitable access to resources, preservation of traditional knowledge and culture, and collective resilience-building among marginalized communities.
Over the years, IMAGIN has established itself as a credible development organization, empowering some of the most vulnerable populations to take control of their own progress and well-being.
Currently, IMAGIN serves as an Implementation Support Agency (ISA) under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) across all blocks of Murshidabad, Birbhum, North 24 Parganas, and Nadia in West Bengal. As an ISA, we play a crucial role in mobilizing and engaging communities throughout every phase of the scheme cycle. Our focus is on planning, implementing, and managing in-village water supply systems by fostering collaboration among multiple stakeholders. Through this extensive engagement, we empower communities to take ownership of their water resources, ensuring long-term sustainability and effective water management.
IMAGIN also serves as a Support Organization (SO) for the West Bengal Accelerated Development of Minor Irrigation Project (WBADMIP) in Nadia and Murshidabad districts. Our efforts include:
Collaborating with 100+ Water User Associations (WUAs), Strengthening the capacity of these associations for effective operation and maintenance of irrigation schemes, Promoting the sustainable management of water resources and by equipping communities with the necessary skills and knowledge, we contribute to enhancing agricultural productivity and improving livelihoods.
