Iswar Sankalpa works at the intersection of homelessness, poverty and psychosocial disability to co-develop an inclusive society. It is a not for profit organization which started its journey in 2007 with a vision of ensuring
dignity and holistic wellbeing of persons with psychosocial disabilities. It is a multi-faceted organization providing accessible and affordable mental health interventions for both the homeless and urban home based low income groups in the city of Kolkata.

The work of the organization is rooted in the Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) model; addressing 5 major aspects of living: Health, Education, Livelihood, Social and Empowerment. With the target group’s choice and agency forming the nucleus of the work, the model underlines the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration (Families, government, civil society organizations, community, etc.) for facilitating sustainable community reintegration and full participation of the vulnerable social groups in community life.
