About NGO
Joygram Social Welfare Society, registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961, is a dedicated non-profit organization aiming to empower the disabled, the poor, the needy, and marginalized communities, focusing primarily on distressed and downtrodden children and women. Founded by a group of dynamic, educated, and motivated individuals, the society operates under strong
rules and regulations outlined in its Memorandum of Association, guided by an active Governing BoYdy.
The organization's roots trace back to 2010 when a group of enthusiastic young men and women began organizing sports, games, and cultural programs. Initially operating as a temporary club with seasonal activities, their efforts gradually expanded to include year-round programs, tournaments, and the distribution of aids and appliances for disabled persons. Recognizing the need for a permanent youth club, the founders convened meetings and garnered support for their noble proposal, officially establishing the Joygram Social Welfare Society.
Operating in a backward and interior region of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, the society serves a population facing significant economic challenges. The area is predominantly inhabited by landless seasonal agricultural laborers and marginal landholders, with limited employment opportunities. In response, the society began informal activities in education, medical aid, vocational training, awareness generation, community welfare, and development, as well as relief and rehabilitation efforts for all categories of disabled individuals, including those with orthopedic, intellectual, visual, hearing, speech, and leprosy-cured disabilities.
One of the major activities of Joygram Social Welfare Society is the holistic development of special children. This includes comprehensive programs to improve physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being through tailored educational initiatives, therapeutic interventions, and inclusive sports and cultural activities.
Formally registered in 2012, Joygram Social Welfare Society strives towards inclusive growth and development. The organization is headquartered in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, and is registered with a unique ID “WB/2016/0098861” and registration number S/1L/96799, dated 4th October 2012.
