St. Jude India Child care Centres provides safe, secure, hygienic accommodation and holistic support and care to needy, out-station families with cancer affected children under treatment in metro cities

St. Judes was set up in 2006 by Nihal and Shyama Kaviratne and started with an eight-unit centre in Parel, Mumbai providing shelter to children who are undergoing treatment for cancer at Tata Memorial Hospital. Over the last 17 years we have grown into a pan India organisation providing ‘home-a-way-from-home’ for 500+ families every day across 11 cities across India. The families come from different parts of the country.

Our Vision: To nurture and develop our sustainable model that places children undergoing treatment for cancer, on the path to a happy and healthy life. In doing so, we hope that every child will realize his or her potential and transform their lives.

Our Mission: To facilitate the recovery of children who are undergoing treatment for serious chronic diseases like cancer by providing clean, safe and cost-free accommodation.
